NewSymbianEven though Symbian's interface is not to be criticized, Nokia has realized that the competition's products were more intuitive and easier to use. For that reason, Nokia is making Symbian's interface much more simple and better looking. As you may know, Symbian's transition will go through S^3 to finally reach S^4, which is the platform Nokia expects to give their phones a fresh look and bring more customers. We were recently presenting you some images of S^3's interface, showing the it was starting to be easier to use. As we mentioned, Nokia knows Symbian prompts the user too often and are working on this, which will be one of the major improvements brought by S^3. What users should expect with S^4 is a new interface offering transparency and features that will make the interface look more modern but also make it easier to use. To give you a little idea of what the system will look like, here are some screenshots and videos that were recently released and confirmed to be what S^4 will look like, even though the system is very likely to change.

After releasing an S60 v3 version, Skype worked on a v5 software that would fully works on touchscreen Nokia phones. Even though this version is specific to touchscreen Nokia devices, it brings nothing more than the previous client, which was already supporting Voice Calls, SMS, group conversations, file sending and of course chatting with your Skype contacts. Skype for Symbian also lets you receive calls on your SkypeIn number, call using your SkypeOut credits and access your Skype voicemail directly from your Nokia phone, which is something everyday users will definitely appreciate. The application works with 3G and WiFi connections and therefore enables you to keep in touch with your loved ones wherever you are.

logoWell known by Symbian users, Joikuspot is one of the application that exploits most of operating system's capabilities to give the user an outstanding Internet experience by allowing them to share their 3G Internet connection over WiFi. Very easy to set up and convenient, Joikuspot works perfectly and allows you to use your laptop or any other WiFi device when you're not normally supposed to see any WiFi hotspot. Of course, the only limitation of this application is the network coverage as you will need to have 3G coverage to be able to share your connection.
