Nokia announced the N900 as a mobile computer that had a phone capabilities. Indeed, the device runs the Maemo Operating System that is closer to what MID do than what smartphones are able to handle  For training issues, the Finnish manufacturer first said the N900 wouldn't sell in Lebanon because they'd need to train their Care centers for a device that could be unpopular in the country. However, the Nokia N900 actually got popular in Lebanon and many people tried to import some from other countries or buy ones that were not meant to be sold there. Many visitors also asked us how to buy it there and were worried not only about the price but also about knowing if the device they were buying was a genuine N900. To end up all these doubts but also to avoid fake devices from being bought in the country and to give people what they want (let's say it!), Nokia eventually decided to release an official version of their Internet tablet in Lebanon.

Nokia-N900-560x422

Since today, the device is officially in stores in Lebanon and can be bought from any authorized distributor or retailer at approximately USD 600 (MSRP). The device does come with an official 1 year warranty and can be serviced at any authorized Nokia Care center. The N900 is also fully supported by the Lebanese Nokia Careline as representatives have been trained. However, the limited warranty only covers the device within the Lebanese borders, which means the device cannot be serviced outside the country (it could but with an additional fee).

Nokia should know something, there is nothing that is unpopular in Lebanon. If they sell a stick that has a 'Nokia' brand, everyone will buy it. This is how Lebanese think :)

It's the official price but I believe most of the stores will sell it at this price. It's available at any official Nokia retailer in Lebanon.

Hi there, Maemo doesn't support Arabic characters, which means the N900 isn't able to support any Arabic characters.
