Who can say they never forgot to switch their phone's profile to pager or silent when going to a meeting or a conference and received a call or a message at the very worst moment? These situations are very annoying and make you feel bad, especially when you have a pretty funny ringtone... Luckily, Symbian devices offer complete profile settings that you can personalize in the way you want. They also support timed profiles, which help you manage when a profile should expire and switch back to "general". Let's see how to set them up:

First, go you the "Settings" menu, instead of the regular profile switch list. Then, select "Profiles" and click on the profile you would like to activate for a certain amount of time and select "Timed". Now your device will ask you when you want the profile to expire, which actually means that this profile will stay active until the time you set. When the profile expires, the phone will automatically switch back to the previous profile.

Unfortunately, this system only allows you to time a profile once, it is not possible to automatically do this. However, many applications available on the Ovi Store let you automatically switch profiles and time them by day and time. Also, please not that this feature may not be available on all Nokia devices.

Here are some screenshots to help you better understand the steps. You can click on the images to zoom.
